Lunch Time With Misha

So Misha is Hannah's pet bear and they've gone on a fishing trip to get ready for lunch. She dragged her best friend Tara with them and she absolutely hates fishing. As you can see she's pretty terrible at it too...

So I watched a documentary about bears today and was inspired to paint this.... thing. I also find that it's a lot easier to paint when you plan out a story for the characters, even if the story is completely inane and dumb haha.

This was fun and I liked how it turned out. It was spontaneous and energetic. This time around, I tried painting on only one layer, so every mistake I made had to be painted over, instead of deleted. It was a really healthy exercise because I was forced to be more confident with every brush stroke and less afraid to make mistakes. I think I'm going to do a lot more 1 layer paintings from now on.

Reverted back to mostly using default photoshop brushes. Blocked things in with the photoshop chalk brush, and cleaned everything up with the hard round brush! Enjoy!
